Big Tomato Contest
Since 1993 LaTorre Hardware has sponsored "The Big Tomato Contest" with a 1st prize of $500 dollars, our contest attracts entrants from all over South Jersey. The contest is co-sponsored by the Daily Journal Newspaper and receives plenty of great press coverage. The contest begins in May with participating customers given a free tomato plant and a 5lb bag of Espoma Tomato Tone. The final weigh-in is the third Saturday in August at 3:00 p.m.

2010 Winners

First place in the tomato contest went toFrank Simone.

His tomato weighed two pounds, 5 ounces.
2nd place

Second place winner was Jimmy Capece

His tomato weighed two pounds.

Third place winner wasBenny Lopez.

His tomato weighed one pound, 15 ounces.
